Earning a high score on the ACT comes with many benefits!!
To Graduate with Honors, students must score at or above all subject area readiness benchmarks on the ACT. English = 18, Mathematics = 22, Reading = 22, Science = 23
To Graduate with Distinction, students must attain a B average (GPA of 3.0 or higher) and complete at least one of the following:
Attain a 31 or higher composite score on the ACT
Attain a score of 3 or higher on at least two AP exams
Earn 12 or more semester hours of transcripted postsecondary credit (college credit)
Earn a nationally recognized industry certification
Participate in one of the Governor's Schools
Participate in one of the state's All State musical organizations
Be selected as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist
Ned McWherter Scholars Program
Another reason to do well on the ACT!!
To apply, you must
be a resident of Tennessee, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and attend an eligible Tennessee college or university full time, and
have at least a 3.5 unweighted cumulative grade point average, and
have a minimum composite score of 29 on the ACT or 1280 on the SAT (math and critical reading only)
The award is $6,000 per academic year, $3,000 from the State of Tennessee and $3,000 from the college or university attended. Awards are made in equal installments each term throughout the academic year.
The award may be renewed three times for a total of four years. The recipient must maintain at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and attend full-time to remain eligible.

Renewal applicants are given first priority. TSAC must receive the completed application and required attachments by February 15.
HOPE Scholarship
The HOPE Scholarship provides up to $1,750 per semester your freshman & sophomore year, then $2,250 per semester your junior & senior year at 4-year or 2-year TN colleges with on-campus housing OR $1,500 per semester for 2-years at a 2-year institution (community college or tech school).
To qualify for the HOPE, students must have either a minimum of a 21 on the ACT OR a minimum 3.0 GPA.
